Sometimes I worry that people actually listen to me.

"Take off all your clothes, wrap this $12 length of cloth around you, and go balance yourself at the end of the 100 year-old mining rails. Don't let the ridiculous hat fall off in the wind, and try to look natural. Please."

Gosh, we had a great time.

These are all taken on the Orient Land Trust. It's an awfully fun place, and after seeing these shots, I can't help but wonder why artists aren't doing more creative weirdnesses there.

I used the 5D and the 24-70mm f/2.8L lens, and during the first moments of shooting (the rail shot, upper left) I realized that I'd underestimated the zoom-ability of 70mm with the full-frame sensor:  I was too far back. Loss of the effective 1.6 magnification factor of the D60 is going to take some getting used to.

As will the light-falloff in the corners of the frame at focal lengths near f/2.8. Still, it's not as bad as the 17-40mm wide-angle.

All in all, I took about 80 shots of cj, and these six or seven turned out the best ...for whatever it was that I was trying to achieve.
