Setting: Originally we set out to do "autumnal mood" shots for a gallery. Unfortunately, the day we picked - two weeks in advance - was almost cloudless: Horrible light for shooting. Our only chance to salvage the pictures, I thought, was to kill a bit of the early afternoon. So we began by sipping lattes in a Nederland coffee shop for a little while, then beginning the shoot in a dense forest, pulling off the "autumnal mood" shots only in the last light of the day.

Molly was a perfect model: She would try my bad ideas, take direction, and try not to look too bored while I was setting up. Oh! ...and she's drop-dead gorgeous.

My favorite shots here are the ones where "diffuse glow" was added, giving the images a dreamlike quality. I think my least favorite are the "fashion" or "glamour" kinds of shots...but this was the first time I'd used a reflector. Or perhaps Molly's white dress was too formal?

Technical details: Used a (borrowed!) collapsible reflector, or a translucent screen, in several of these shots.
